Awards for Excellence in Public Relations

The annual Awards for Excellence in Public Relations; took place at the Shelbourne Hotel last Friday. It was a hugely enjoyable event bringing the PR industry together to celebrate the most successful campaigns over the past year.

Across the last 7 days, Newsaccess monitored #PRAwards16 on Twitter to find out who the key influencers were. The top ten Twitter influencers using #PRAwards16 had a potential reach of just fewer than 500,000 and tweeted almost 160 times.

The Newsaccess Word Bubble is made up of all the main handles and hashtags associated with #PRAwards16. We can see from this that there was a sense of anticipation and support in the air, especially for the ‘Young Communications Professional of the Year Award’ which was sponsored by Newsaccess.

The #PRAwards16 was trending throughout the day; there were nearly 600 mentions as illustrated below. We can see the peak in activity comes between 3-4pm as the winners were being announced with a total of 177 tweets.

Young Communications Professional of the Year Award

Newsaccess were proud to sponsor the Young Communications Professional of the Year Award which was won by Mark O'Toole, Account Director at Beachhut PR, who was presented with the award by Newsaccess CEO Stuart McHugh and Wilson Hartnell's Sharon Murphy.


The Young Communications Professional of the Year Award was open to public relations and communications professionals aged 28 or under.
